Gençliğinde bir çok farklı spor dalıyla uğraşan Dünya Baltacıoğlu, profesyonel anlamda voleybola başlayarak 19 sene boyunca Türkiye ve İtalya’da bir çok önemli takımda oynadı. 125 kez milli formayı giyen Baltacıoğlu, Türkiye’ye plaj voleybolunu kazandıran grubun önemli bir parçasıdır. Halen FIVB Plaj Voleybolu Dünya Konseyi’nin bir üyesi ve Sportsnet Group’un organizasyondan sorumlu yönetim kurulu üyesidir.
Born in 1955. Graduated from Marmara University School of Physical education and SportsHis sportive life were begin with fencing in 1965 and were continued basketball and volleyball with it. After 1974, he decided focus only on Volleyball and had played till 1993. During 19 years, he played in different Turkish Volleyball teams and had played 5 years in Italy’s Napolplast and Allegrino teams by being the first turkish volleyball player in Italy. He got the MVP title and came back to Turkey to continue his professional volleyball life. He capped 125 times for the national team.He played 2 times in championship club Final-Four, 3 times in Universiade, one time Mediterranean Games and one time in European Championship Final. In, 1993 he ended his indoor volleyball career and continued with beach-volley till the end of his professional sportive life In 2000, he was a part of the group who brought beach-volley to Turkey. He worked as the director of FIVB World Tour 3 times, FIVB World Championship 2 times and CEV Euro Baech Tour 6 times. He still takes places on executive teams in different clubs; Altınyurt Sport Club president, Moda Sea Club member, Fenerbahçe Sport Club council member and FIVB Beach Volley World council member.
